About Pine Tree Camp

Pine Tree Camp is a summer camp for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities that creates barrier-free access to the outdoors. The 285-acre campus in the heart of the Belgrade Lakes Region is fully accessible and is an American Camp Association-accredited camp for people with disabilities.Click here to learn more about Pine Tree Camp.
MEEA will be working closely with the team at Pine Tree Camp to prioritize gathering attendees’ accessibility needs and staff are available to support you. Navigating the Space

All buildings have automatic door buttons to open and close. Paths and roads on the Pine Tree campus are paved tar. Five miles of nature trails are accessible and wide enough for mobility aids.

Accessible Cabins

Each cabin at Pine Tree Camp is wheelchair accessible and is large enough for mobility aid users to maneuver the space. The beds can be lowered and risen. Bathrooms include a roll-in shower and sink counters. There are bars on the sides of the toilets. Each cabin also includes 1-2 hospital beds. Caregivers are more than welcome to attend the gathering. One cabin has separate rooms for sleeping and a full kitchen (not wheelchair accessible) and is available for attendees and their caregivers. 
Service animals are welcome at Pine Tree Camp and will be encouraged to stay in Cabin 6. Please pick up after your service animals and dispose of the trash in trash bins inside of the buildings as there are not any outdoor trash cans.

Restrooms

There are wheelchair accessible restrooms in all of the buildings on Pine Tree’s campus, however the four restrooms in the dining hall do not have automatic doors.

Parking

Parking for attendees who do not need accessible parking will be in the large field labeled overflow parking. We encourage carpooling when possible! There are accessible parking spots in front of the Wellness Center and the Main Entrance of Pine Tree Camp. Attendees with mobility support needs are welcome to park their vehicles in front of their cabins.

Food

There will be multiple food options including vegetarian, vegan, dairy and gluten free. Gluten-free food is kept in a separate serving area. You can bring your own food and it will be kept in the fridge in the dining hall kitchen where a staff member can heat up your food for you in the microwave. 

Scent sensitivities

Pine Tree uses Pine Sol, Lysol, and Clorox wipes. The spaces will be cleaned ahead of time. We ask that attendees don’t bring any strong chemical scents like perfumes or cologne to the gathering.
