Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet
7 weeks: October 18 to Dec. 12, 2026
Online and in-person
This seven week group experience is for young Mainers age 35 and under responding to the need for support for the youth climate movement around burnout, imposter syndrome, and feelings of hopelessness. The online gatherings will bring together youth leaders in Maine to create healing communities where people feel safe sharing vulnerably.
There will be 7 weeks of teaching videos and guided practices, four group sharing sessions, five live events on Sundays 1:30-2:30pm, and guided relaxation sessions.
Maine participants will:
• Gather at the start of ZASP to connect, ask questions, and receive guidance on how to work the experience into their lives in ways that are nourishing and not stressful.
• Gather midway through to share a meal and be outside together.
• Continue to gather in person each season of the year
The first five people living in Maine who are 35 or younger to register for our community, will have their $200 registration fee covered. Others will still be welcome to participate with us and sliding-scale rates are available for those who need them. Each youth participant will be welcomed to invite a trusted adult ally to participate with us (at their own cost).
All are welcome: ZASP is available in English and Spanish. The teachers are Vietnamese, European, African American, Chilean, and Costa Rican, and the community is welcoming to people of any faith background or who are atheist.
