MEEA Transportation Assistance awards are meant to support classroom and non-traditional educators in the pursuit of field trips to outdoor/environmental sites that may otherwise not occur due to School District budget cuts and increased transportation costs.

The total amount awarded by MEEA shall not exceed $200 per trip. Assistance monies will be awarded on a rolling basis until funds are gone. Trips may be partially funded, depending upon number of applications received, and completion of trip proposals.? Priority is given to new applicants.?? Both field trip applicant and destination organization must be MEEA members or have a MEEA representative on staff.? To become a member, visit the MEEA web site www.meeassociation.org.

APPLICATION PROPOSAL

On a separate sheet using school or company letterhead, follow these guidelines:

1. Date of application .

2. Clearly state the field trip date and destination.

3. Abstract: a one or two sentence summary/overview of the trip purpose.

4. The field trip proposal should reflect clear student outcomes, connected to MSLR and must demonstrate an environmental focus.

5. Include estimated transportation costs.
